Editorial and Testing Standards

CSV Pilot publishes documentation to help merchants understand exactly how catalog data is transformed. Our public guide index is deliberately limited to topics that can be checked against the product's implementation, supported source formats or repeatable CSV safety rules.

What qualifies for the public guide index

A guide must do more than repeat general CSV advice. Before it is indexed, it must:

• answer a specific catalog or conversion task supported by CSV Pilot;
• identify the source columns or file shape the converter recognizes;
• state which fields are preserved, transformed, skipped or require review;
• include a realistic example, limitation or failure condition;
• avoid claims of platform affiliation, guaranteed imports or unsupported features.

How conversion claims are checked

Platform-specific guides are compared with the corresponding converter and regression fixtures in the CSV Pilot codebase. Those fixtures cover simple products as well as variant rows, option groups, price deltas, images, inventory, inactive products and source fields without a safe Hyperzod equivalent.

• Shopify: handle grouping, one-row-per-variant exports, nested options, images, draft status and fields that Hyperzod cannot preserve.
• DeliverLogic and Yelo: supported menu templates, RDS-style rows, size grouping and the limits of add-on identifiers without definition data.
• Ordering.co: categories, products, extras, min/max selection rules and multi-business exports.
• StoreHippo: parent/variant rows, option values, inventory behavior and variant-SKU loss.

AI-assisted writing

AI may assist with drafting, organization and code review. It is not treated as a factual source. Product behavior must be supported by the current implementation or a cited platform specification, and generated copy is not automatically published. Guides that have not completed this review remain outside the public guide index.

Accuracy boundaries

CSV formats change, and merchant exports can contain custom columns or app-specific data. CSV Pilot therefore reports limitations rather than promising a perfect import. Users should review the preview, resolve warnings and run a small test import before replacing a live catalog. CSV Pilot is independent and is not affiliated with the platforms discussed in its guides.

Corrections and updates

If a guide does not match a current export or tool result, send the affected headers, expected behavior and a redacted sample through the contact page. We correct verified issues and update the visible modification date when the article's technical content changes.

Advertising independence

Advertising does not determine which platforms are covered or what a guide says. Ads are disabled on the CSV workspace, legal pages, error pages and other functional screens. Editorial guides are evaluated for usefulness before they can become eligible for an ad placement.
